The HLA-B8 antigen has been known since 1965 and its characteristics were summarized in 1980 [4]. Of all the class I antigens studied by Vasilov et al. [8] it has the most acidic isoelectric point. Healthy individuals carrying HLA-B8 (but not all of them) have particular features not found in non-B8 individuals.
