Environmental pollution and sustainable restoration of the Yamuna River: A review of water quality, health risks, and phycoremediation

open access: yesRiver, Volume 5, Issue 3, Page 398-418, August 2026.
Abstract The Yamuna River, one of India's most significant river systems and the largest tributary of the Ganges River, serves critical ecological, socio‐economic, and cultural functions. However, rapid urbanization, industrialization, and intensive agriculture have severely degraded its water quality, resulting in extensive pollution with untreated ...

β‐Cyclodextrin Immobilized in Geophagic Clay Sheets for the Absorption of Dyes From Wastewater Using a Fixed‐Bed Method

open access: yesWater Environment Research, Volume 98, Issue 10, October 2026.
β‐Cyclodextrin‐functionalized geophagic clay was applied in a fixed‐bed column for the removal of rhodamine B (RhB) and methyl orange (MO). RhB interacts via electrostatic attraction and hydrogen bonding, while MO undergoes cavity inclusion complexation and hydrogen bonding within the βCD structure.

Dimensionality Reduction Techniques for Analyzing Tsunami Simulations in Hazard Assessment and Forecasting Applications

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 5, October 2026.
Abstract A wide selection of linear and non‐linear dimensionality reduction techniques is evaluated on synthetic tsunami data that is the basis for tsunami hazard assessment and computational forecasting. The data were computed from earthquake rupture forecasts (ERFs) supplying initial generation conditions and a linear long‐wave Green's function ...

Low Levels of Amino Acid Auxotrophy Among Environmental Pseudomonas Isolates

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 10, October 2026.
We explored the frequency of auxotrophy among co‐isolated natural Pseudomonas spp. We used a combination of in vitro and in silico approaches to assess the frequency of auxotrophy in communities and to understand the association between habitat, phylogeny and the occurrence of specific amino acid metabolic pathways.

Who Is a Patriotic Man? Rethinking Hegemonic Masculinity in Modern Iran

open access: yesGender &History, Volume 38, Issue 3, Page 846-858, October 2026.
ABSTRACT This article examines the analytical viability of the concept of “hegemonic masculinity” in the historical study of masculinities in early‐twentieth‐century Iran (c.1890–1941).
