Differentiation of Bacillus globisporus, Bacillus marinus comb. nov., Bacillus aminovorans, and Bacillus insolitus [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic Bacteriology, 1983
The type strains of Bacillus globisporus subsp. globisporus and B. globisporus subsp. marinus were shown to have only 20% deoxyribonucleic acid homology. These two organisms could be differentiated by 15 physiological characteristics, including salt requirements, production of β-galactosidase, digestion of urea and esculin, fermentation of ...

Isolation and characterization of a microorganism that produces biosurfactants in corn steep water

open access: yesCyTA - Journal of Food, 2019
In this work a Bacillus strain with capacity to produce biosurfactants was isolated from commercial corn steep water (CSW). The identification of this bacterium was based on phenotypic characteristics.

Influence of Bacillus Spp. Based Bioproducts on Potato Plant Growth and Control of Rhizoctonia Solani

open access: yesBulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca. Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2019
Some Bacillus based bioproducts were analyzed for their plant growth promotion and Rhizoctonia solani biocontrol potential in potato plants. The bioproducts were formulated as concentrated aqueous suspension, each containing one of the following plant ...

State‐of‐the‐Art, Insights, and Perspectives for MOFs‐Nanocomposites and MOF‐Derived (Nano)Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.

Bacillus Responses to Plant-Associated Fungal and Bacterial Communities

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2020
Some members of root-associated Bacillus species have been developed as biocontrol agents due to their contribution to plant protection by directly interfering with the growth of pathogens or by stimulating systemic resistance in their host.

Engineering Bacterial Secretion Systems for Enhanced Tumor Imaging and Surgical Guidance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel contrast agent platform, Streptavidin Associated Salmonella (SAS), for fluorescence image guided surgery. SAS selectively colonizes tumors and secretes streptavidin, enabling precise delineation of invasive tumor margins with prolonged signal retention.
