"Flickering" in Protoplasts of Bacillus megaterium
Science, 1963"Flickering," which has been observed in the erythrocytes of many animals, has now been observed in the protoplasts of Bacillus megaterium .

Bacteriophage growth in protoplasts of Bacillus megaterium
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1955Abstract One-step growth experiments show that bacteriophage C can grow in protoplasts of B. megaterium KM if the cells are infected prior to treatment with lysozyme. The phage yield of infected protoplasts is smaller that that of intact cells, and a single burst experiment establishes that the burst size of individual protoplasts is small.

Osmotic properties of protoplasts of Bacillus megaterium
Experimental Cell Research, 1955Abstract The osmotic properties of bacterial protoplasts have been investigated. The protoplasts were obtained by treating Bacillus megaterium cells suspended into polyethylene glycol or sucrose solutions with lysozyme. The concentration of these substances and hence the osmotic pressure of the medium before the removal of the cell wall has little ...
