Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Bounds on internal state variables in viscoplasticity [PDF]
A typical viscoplastic model will introduce up to three types of internal state variables in order to properly describe transient material behavior; they are as follows: the back stress, the yield stress, and the drag strength.

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Formulation of Subsequent Creep Considering Equivalance of Back Stress.
Interaction between plastic and creep deformation is an important matter to construct a constitutive model for viscoplasticity. Praticularly, equivalence of back stress affecting plastic deformation and affecting creep deformation takes an important role to descreibe cyclic viscoplastic deformation by a constitutive model. In this paper, to clarify the

A constitutive model with damage for high temperature superalloys [PDF]
A unified constitutive model is searched for that is applicable for high temperature superalloys used in modern gas turbines. Two unified inelastic state variable constitutive models were evaluated for use with the damage parameter proposed by Kachanov ...

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Potential of oil-lubricated cylindrical plastic gears
Bending strength of injection molded polyacetal test gears is investigated in back-to-back testing using oil-lubrication. To validate state of the art calculation methods, tooth geometries with a variable number of teeth are investigated, maintaining a ...

Closed form solution of the return mapping algorithm in elastoplasticity [PDF]
In the present work a return mapping algorithm is discussed for small strain elastoplasticity boundary value problems with an exact closed form solution of the local constitutive equations.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
