Ion implanted passivated contacts for interdigitated back contacted solar cells

2015 IEEE 42nd Photovoltaic Specialist Conference (PVSC), 2015
We describe work towards an interdigitated back contacted (IBC) solar cell utilizing ion implanted, passivated contacts. Formation of electron and hole passivated contacts to n-type CZ wafers using tunneling SiO2 and ion implanted amorphous silicon (a-Si) are described.

Back Contact Module Technology

2012
Back contact modules manufactured with MWT cells comprise a higher efficiency than standard x-Si modules made with H-patten cells, due to low fill factor losses of only 0.8%. The cell-module concept is a truly integrated concept with a simplified manufacturing process.

Putting individuals back in contact

2011
Researchers have commented that linguistic complexity and the level of social integration can constrain adults’ ability to acquire phonological changes (Chambers 1992; Kerswill 1996; Evans 2004). This preliminary study explores the extent to which first generation Barbadian immigrants acquire Ipswich English (IpsE) or retain their own phonology (Island

Back-Side Contact Gear Mesh Stiffness

Volume 8: 11th International Power Transmission and Gearing Conference; 13th International Conference on Advanced Vehicle and Tire Technologies, 2011
Back-side gear tooth contact happens when the anti-backlash (or scissor) gears are applied or tooth wedging occurs. An accurate description of the back-side gear tooth mesh stiffness is important to any study on gear dynamics that involves tooth wedging or anti-backlash mechanism.

Interdigitated back contact silicon solar cells with laser fired contacts

2013 IEEE 39th Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC), 2013
We report on interdigitated back-contact silicon solar cells with efficiencies above 18%, fabricated using laser fired silver for both base and emitter contacts. While laser fired aluminum contacts have been reported in the past, this is the first report to our knowledge describing a single-step laser process to dope the underlying silicon and create a

Back Point Contact Cells Modelling

1987
A model of the Back Point Contact (BPC) cell behaviour has been developped and its results are presented here. The model is based on variable injection equations and therefore can be applied to cells of high or low base resistivity at any level of concentration. Also the series resistance mechanisms are analysed. The model explains most of the BPC cell

Shading effects in back-junction back-contacted silicon solar cells

2008 33rd IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference, 2008
One of the most often mentioned advantages of back-junction back-contacted silicon solar cells is that this cell structure has no shading losses, because metallization fingers and busbars are both located on the rear side of the solar cell. However, this is only true if only optical shading losses are regarded.

Back-contact back-junction silicon solar cells under UV illumination

Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, 2010
Abstract The performance of n-type Si back-contact back-junction (BC-BJ) solar cells under illumination with high energy ultraviolet (UV) photons was investigated. The impact of the phosphorus doped front surface field (FSF) layer on the stability of the front surface passivation under UV illumination was investigated.
