A back-electromotive force (EMF) model reference adaptive system based sensorless control scheme is proposed for a grid-connected doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). Based on the stator-side and the rotor-side dynamic models of the DFIG, both the reference model and the adaptive model of the proposed back-EMF based DFIG are investigated.

Uneven magnetization of permanent magnets (PMs) is one of the major sources of unbalanced magnetic force and torque ripple, which excite a brushless dc (BLDC) motor. This paper investigates the frequency contents of the back electromotive force (BEMF) due to the unevenly magnetized PMs in a BLDC motor.

This paper presents a study of the torque component under the d-axis and q-axis of brushless DC motor with nonideal back electromotive force. Based on the improved torque harmonic expressions, the main ripple contributors can be found and are also used as the basis of designing the phase current.

The accurate estimation of the performance change according to variations in stack length of motors is important in related industries. A permanent magnet (PM) motor usually represents a characteristic in which its back electromotive force (EMF) constant (K e ) is linearly proportional to stack length.
