Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Maintenance Service Supplier Selection for Complex Equipment in Military–Civilian Collaborative Background Considering Two-Stage Matching Perspective

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society
The maintenance of sophisticated equipment is of paramount importance, particularly in the military–civilian integration context. Traditional maintenance practices often rely on historical data and accumulated experience.

Individual and organisational determinants associated with maintenance tocolysis in the management of preterm labour: a multilevel analysis. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
BackgroundClinical guidelines do not recommend maintenance tocolysis for the management of preterm labour. The French national survey EVAPRIMA revealed it was administered to more than 50% of women hospitalised for preterm labour. Our aim was to identify

Development and initial testing of the self‐care of chronic illness inventory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Aim The aim was to develop and psychometrically test the self‐care of chronic illness Inventory, a generic measure of self‐care. Background Existing measures of self‐care are disease‐specific or behaviour‐specific; no generic measure of self‐care ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The Background of a Patient Undergoing Long-Term Periodontal Disease Maintenance Using Step for Coding and Theorization: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry
Periodontal maintenance is crucial for long-term periodontal stability, but some patients do not undertake maintenance following their initial treatment.

Maintenance therapy for untreated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: a systematic review and network meta-analysis

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Hematology, 2021
Background: Several clinical trials have been conducted to evaluate the role of maintenance therapy in untreated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients with complete response or partial response following standard immunochemotherapy; however, the

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
