A popular backlash against globalization? [PDF]
Is there a popular backlash against globalization? When did it start and in which forms? What do we know about its causes? We address these questions in the context of advanced democracies.

Ultra‐Low Intensity Continuous Wave Laser Ablation Propulsion With Graphene‐Engineered Wood
Graphene delignified wood converts continuous wave laser energy into thrust. Laser propulsion experiments in vacuum reveal the lowest laser ablation threshold intensities and the greatest density‐normalized specific impulse in literature. The results highlight graphene delignified wood as a potential efficient, sustainable, strong, and lightweight ...

Biosynthesis of Sciadonic Acid Derived from Gymnosperms with Anti‐Colitis Activity
This study establishes an efficient Yarrowia lipolytica platform for unusual sciadonic acid (SCA) production and assess the anti‐colitis efficacy in mice of SCA, supporting its potential as a novel therapeutic lipid. ABSTRACT Sciadonic acid (SCA), Δ5‐unsaturated fatty acid with anti‐inflammatory and lipid‐regulatory properties, is predominantly derived

This study reveals the dual role of celecoxib in intervertebral disc degeneration. While low concentrations are protective, high concentrations induce toxicity by upregulating HSP90, which synergizes with USP15 to deubiquitinate and stabilize RBX1. This leads to degradation of COMMD1/ATP7B, copper dyshomeostasis, and ultimately, cuproptosis.

Self-learning Backlash Inverse Control of Cooling or Heating Coil Valves Having Backlash Hysteresis [PDF]
Valves are widely used in HVAC systems to regulate liquid flow rate, such as hot- and chilled-water valves utilized in cooling and heating coils. These valves are typically controlled with motorized actuators where significant backlash hysteresis might ...

To overcome severe signal oscillation under extreme impact conditions, this work presents a Sensing‐in‐Energy microdevice which integrates a MEMS inertial structure directly within a supercapacitor electrolyte cavity. Utilizing shock‐driven transient contact and electrolyte damping for signal self‐filtering, it achieves weak‐oscillation, large ...

Optimization Design of Part Tolerance of RV Reducer based on Genetic Algorithm
The backlash is one of the important technical indicators of the RV reducer, and there are many design parameters that affect the backlash. Based on the mathematical model between the part processing feature tolerance and cost, the minimum part ...

Inhibitory Decay and Supercritical Brain Dynamics During Sleep Deprivation
Sleep deprivation progressively shifts human brain dynamics from near‐critical toward supercritical states, as revealed by neuronal avalanche analysis of resting‐state fMRI. These changes track subjective sleep pressure rather than vigilance lapses and show marked network heterogeneity. A circuit model suggests that reduced inhibitory efficacy provides
