Distributed Newton method for time-varying convex optimization with backward Euler prediction
<p>We investigated the challenge of unconstrained distributed optimization with a time-varying objective function, employing a prediction-correction approach. Our method introduced a backward Euler prediction step that used the differential information from consecutive moments to forecast the trajectory's future direction.

Herein, a patient‐mounted neuro optical coherence tomography system that integrates a 5 degrees‐of‐freedom skull‐mounted robot (Skullbot) with a 0.6 mm neuroendoscope for targeted, minimally invasive deep brain imaging, is developed. The system offers high‐resolution imaging with precise deployment, demonstrated through successful tumor imaging in a ...

The expanded mixed covolume Element (EMCVE) method is studied for the two-dimensional integro-differential equation of Sobolev type. We use a piecewise constant function space and the lowest order Raviart-Thomas ( RT 0 $\mathit{RT}_{0}$ ) space as the ...

Shape memory alloy wires exhibit thermally induced phase changes that generate actuation strain and resistance variations enabling self‐sensing. However, hysteretic electromechanical behavior complicates accurate state estimation. This paper presents an artificial in‐based self‐sensing method to reconstruct SMA actuator position in real time, achieving

Scalable High‐Force Zipping Electrostatic Actuators
An electrostatic actuator architecture is presented that combines high energy density with forces and strokes suited for wearable soft robotics. By folding patterned thin films into a scalable honeycomb of zipping units, performance becomes tunable through series–parallel design, achieving over 40 N and 28 J/kg.

Transient thermal modelling of green anode cooling in the aluminium industry
Summary of the methodology. Abstract Anodes, which are used in electrolytic aluminium production, are made by mixing dry aggregate (petroleum coke, rejected anodes, and butts) with coal tar pitch, compacting the resulting paste (green anode), and baking (baked anode). After compaction, the anodes are cooled to maintain their structural integrity before

Abstract Intensity–duration–frequency curves are used by a wide range of professionals to manage the risks related to extreme rainfall. In Canada, these curves are produced by Environment and Climate Change Canada on the basis of Gumbel distributions fitted independently for each accumulation period.

Invariant Measure and Universality of the 2D Yang–Mills Langevin Dynamic
ABSTRACT We prove that the Yang–Mills (YM) measure for the trivial principal bundle over the two‐dimensional torus, with any connected, compact structure group, is invariant for the associated renormalised Langevin dynamic. Our argument relies on a combination of regularity structures, lattice gauge‐fixing and Bourgain's method for invariant measures ...

This work deals with the spectral element discretization of the time-dependent Stokes problem in two- and three-dimensional domains. The boundary condition is defined on the normal component of the velocity and the tangential components of the vorticity.
