In this paper we present a new numerical technique for 1D, 2D, and 3D time-fractional second order dual-phase-lag model of heat transfer. The problem is formulated as a solution of a time fractional partial differential equation (TFPDE) subjected to ...

The local backward heat problem
In this paper, we study the local backward problem of a linear heat equation with time-dependent coefficients under the Dirichlet boundary condition. Precisely, we recover the initial data from the observation on a subdomain at some later time. Thanks to the "optimal filtering" method of Seidman, we can solve the global backward problem, which ...

ON THREE SPECTRAL REGULARIZATION METHODS FOR A BACKWARD HEAT CONDUCTION PROBLEM [PDF]
We introduce three spectral regularization methods for solving a backward heat conduction problem (BHCP). For the three spectral regularization methods, we give the stability error estimates with optimal order under an a-priori and an a-posteriori regularization parameter choice rule. Numerical results show that our theoretical results are effective.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

Past Cone Dynamics and Backward Group Preserving Schemes for Backward Heat Conduction Problems
In this paper we are concerned with the backward problems governed by differential equations. It is a first time that we can construct a backward time dynamics on the past cone, such that an augmented dynamical system of the Lie type X˙ = B(X,t)X with t ∈ R−, X ∈ Mn+1 lying on the past cone and B ∈ so(n,1), was derived for the backward differential ...

A Regularization Method for Backward Heat Equation on a Rectangular Domain
A regularization method is proposed for the non-homogeneous backward heat equation with a space-dependent source on a two-dimensional rectangular domain. This method is an extension of a known regularization approach.
