Dynamic Pattern Matching on Encrypted Data With Forward and Backward Security

open access: yesIET Information Security
Pattern matching is widely used in applications such as genomic data query analysis, network intrusion detection, and deep packet inspection (DPI). Performing pattern matching on plaintext data is straightforward, but the need to protect the security of ...

Forward and Backward-Secure Range-Searchable Symmetric Encryption [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings on Privacy Enhancing Technologies, 2021
Abstract Dynamic searchable symmetric encryption (DSSE) allows a client to query or update an outsourced encrypted database. Range queries are commonly needed. Previous range-searchable schemes either do not support updates natively (SIGMOD’16) or use file indexes of many long bit-vectors for distinct keywords, which only support ...

Smart Contract-Assisted Dynamically Searchable Encryption Scheme with Forward and Backward Security [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2022
The dynamic searchable encryption process is vulnerable to file injection attacks and information abuseattacks caused by information leakage.Furthermore, the existing dynamic searchable encryption schemes based on public key cryptosystem often involve a ...

Shedding Light on Blind Spot of Backward Privacy in Dynamic Searchable Symmetric Encryption

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Dynamic searchable symmetric encryption (DSSE) enables users to outsource their data while retaining the capability to search and update on the encrypted database. Although various DSSE schemes have been proposed to achieve higher efficiency and stronger

A Forward-Secure Signature with Backward-Secure Detection [PDF]

open access: yes2008 International Conference on Information Security and Assurance (isa 2008), 2008
In this paper, we propose a method to enhance the security of Abdalla and Reyzin 's forward-secure signature scheme, by producing a backward-secure detection. In the proposed scheme, we embedded the hash-chain into the forward-secure signature scheme. It achieves not only forward-security but also backward-security for the digital signature.

Secure Bilevel Asynchronous Vertical Federated Learning with Backward Updating

open access: yesProceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2021
Vertical federated learning (VFL) attracts increasing attention due to the emerging demands of multi-party collaborative modeling and concerns of privacy leakage. In the real VFL applications, usually only one or partial parties hold labels, which makes it challenging for all parties to collaboratively learn the model without privacy leakage. Meanwhile,
