Miniature Soft Robot With Magnetically Reprogrammable Surgical Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Miniature soft robots have great prospects to revolutionize minimally invasive treatments. Here we present a miniature soft robot, which can be reprogrammed to perform five surgical functionalities with six‐degrees‐of‐freedom motions. This soft robot can prospectively make minimally invasive surgery considerably safer and painless, and enable ...

A Privacy Protection Scheme of Certificateless Aggregate Ring Signcryption Based on SM2 Algorithm in Smart Grid

open access: yesMathematics
With the rapid increase in smart grid users and the increasing cost of user data transmission, proposing an encryption method that does not increase the construction cost while increasing the user ceiling has become the focus of many scholars.

Space‐Time Coding Conformal Metasurfaces for Multifrequency Beam Steering and Shaping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Space‐time coding conformal metasurfaces enable dynamic wave control on curved surfaces by combining programmable spatial patterns with temporal modulation. This study shows that a single conformal aperture can independently manipulate multiple frequency components, achieving multifunctional beam shaping and steering, with implications for ...

A Forward and Backward Secure Key Management in Wireless Sensor Networks for PCS/SCADA

open access: yes, 2010
Process Control Systems (PCSs) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems have recently been added to the already wide collection of wireless sensor network applications. The PCS/ SCADA environment is somewhat more amenable to the use of heavy cryptographic mechanisms such as public key cryptography than other sensor application ...

A Geometrically Transient Platform for Bioelectronic Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Minimally invasive bioelectronic implants often compromise performance for smaller sizes. To resolve this optimization dilemma, a wireless bioelectronic implant with a transient geometry is introduced (MiFi). The origami‐inspired device miniaturizes up to sixfold for syringe insertion and autonomously unfolds post‐implantation.

Forward and Backward Intergenerational Goods: Why Is Social Security Good for the Environment? [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper studies the ability of nonmarket institutions to invest optimally in forward intergenerational goods (FIGs), such as education and the environment, when agents are selfish or exhibit paternalistic altruism.

Efficient and Secure Multicast in WirelessMAN: A Cross-layer Design

open access: yesJournal of Communications Software and Systems, 2007
Effectively adding security measures to a multicast service is an intriguing problem, especially when the service isdeployed in a wireless setting. Next generation IEEE 802.16standard WirelessMAN networks are a perfect example of this problem, and the ...
