Abstract Acyl‐CoA thioesterases hydrolyse thioester bonds to release free fatty acyl chains and coenzyme A (CoA), thereby regulating lipid metabolism, signaling, and membrane homeostasis. Here, we present the structural and functional characterization of the Paal‐like thioesterase SAV0944 (SaPaaI) from Staphylococcus aureus.

This study demonstrated that the pathogen responsible for diarrhoea in a cynomolgus monkey was identified as Proteus mirabilis (P. mirabilis) through methods including bacterial isolation and culture, morphological examination, biochemical profiling, 16S rRNA sequencing, analysis of key virulence genes and bacterial artificial infection tests.

Successful Management of Septic Splenitis in an Abyssinian Cat
A 3.5‐year‐old female neutered Abyssinian with pyrexia of unknown origin and splenomegaly was diagnosed with septic splenitis.
