Bacteriophage typing of Salmonella weltevreden
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1979Salmonella weltevreden has been found to be one of the commonest Salmonella serotypes isolated from diverse sources in India and has also been isolated in a number of other countries. A phage typing scheme was developed for this serotype using a set of six typing phages. These phages had been selected out of 146 phage strains isolated and purified from

A catalogue of T4-type bacteriophages
Archives of Virology, 1997The T4-type of bacteriophages is broadly defined on the basis of particle morphology. It occurs in enterobacteria (125 representatives), acinetobacters, aeromonads, pseudomonads, and vibrios (16 isolates). In addition, 18 apparently unrelated phages with prolate heads and contractile tails are found in a wide range of bacteria.

Staphylococcal enterocolitis: Studies in bacteriophage typing patterns
Journal of Surgical Research, 1963Summary Isolates of Staphylococcus aureus from the stools of 55 patients with staphylococcal enterocolitis complicating antibiotic therapy during an 18 month period in 1960 and 1961 were tested with the phages from the Standard International Series and 36 (65.4 per cent) were found to be “untypable.” When these 36 “untypable” isolates were tested ...

Experimental bacteriophage set for typing staphylococcus intermedius
Zentralblatt für Bakteriologie, Mikrobiologie und Hygiene. 1. Abt. Originale. A, Medizinische Mikrobiologie, Infektionskrankheiten und Parasitologie, 1982A new phage set for typing Staphylococcus intermedius is proposed. By using 14 phages, 581 strains isolated from dogs, pigeons, horses, foxes and mink were subjected to typing at routine test dilution (RTD) and 100 X RTD. The typability of each ecovar ranged from 78.9% to 100%. Most of the strains were typable at RTD.

Bacteriophage typing of Vibrio fluvialis.
The Southeast Asian journal of tropical medicine and public health, 1994Six stable bacteriophages of Vibrio fluvialis were isolated from 44 surface water specimens collected in Thailand and Japan. Twelve different phages types were found among 109 V. fluvialis isolated from feces of diarrheal patients and the environment. Seventy-three percent (80/109) of these 109 isolates were typable with these phages.
