Preliminary geochemical modeling of water-rock-gas interactions controlling CO2 storage in the Badenian Aquifer within Czech Part of Vienna Basin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Prediction of hydrogeochemical effects of geological CO2 sequestration is crucial for planning an industrial or even experimental scale injection of carbon dioxide gas into geological formations. This paper presents a preliminary study of the suitability

Middle Miocene volcanic flare up preceding and synchronous with the Langhian/Serravallian sea‐level decline in the North Pannonian Basin: Insights from 40Ar/39Ar dating, geo‐seismic analysis and 3D visualization of the subterranean Kráľová stratovolcano

open access: yesBasin Research, Volume 36, Issue 1, January–February 2024.
Middle Miocene Volcanic Flare‐up Preceding and Synchronous with the Langhian/Serravallian Sea Level Decline in the North Pannonian Basin. The top part of the graphical abstract depicts a geological overview of the Pannonian Basin System, featuring the Danube Basin within it.

Hydrothermal speleogenesis in carbonates and metasomatic silicites induced by subvolcanic intrusions: a case study from the Štiavnické vrchy Mountains, Slovakia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Speleology, 2016
Several caves of hydrothermal origin in crystalline limestones and metasomatic silicites were investigated in the central zone of the Štiavnica stratovolcano, Štiavnické vrchy Mountains, central Slovakia.

Statistical analysis of Neogene sediment thickness deposited during the first transtensional and first transpressional evolutionary stages in the Bjelovar Sub-basin, Northern Croatia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The Bjelovar Sub-basin is situated in Northern Croatia and constitutes the southwestern branch of the Drava Basin. The Neogene-Quaternary sedimentary section can be subdivided into three megacycles, which are separated by regional unconformities.

MIDDLE MIOCENE DROWNED RAMP IN THE VICINITY OF MARIJA BISTRICA (NORTHERN CROATIA)

open access: yesRudarsko-geološko-naftni Zbornik, 2018
Fossiliferous Middle Miocene deposits from the surroundings of Marija Bistrica (north-east of Zagreb) transgressively overly older pre-Cenozoic bedrocks. Fossils from shallow marine environments are in most cases preserved as bioclasts, while deep marine

Paleoenvironmental and stratigraphic investigations of the foraminiferal fauna from the Karpatian (Lower Miocene) Garáb Schlier Formation of the Mátraverebély-122 (Mv-122) borehole (North Hungary) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The Garáb Schlier Formation is composed of gray sand, silt, clay and clay marl, deposited in an open marine environment. The aims of this study were to reconstruct its paleoenvironmental features and to propose a hypostratotype of the Garáb Schlier ...

THE DEEPWATER BONY FISH FAUNA FROM THE LATE BADENIAN (SERRAVALLIAN) OF WALBERSDORF, AUSTRIA - RECONSTRUCTED WITH OTOLITHS

open access: yesRivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia
Otolith associations have been extensively described from the Badenian (Langhian to early Serravallian) of the Central Paratethys. During the late Badenian (early Serravallian), the basin was strongly segmented, and the faunal composition of its biota ...

The middle miocene (Badenian) holoplanktonic mollusks (Euthecosomata - Pteropoda) from Serbia, central paratethys [PDF]

open access: yesGeološki Anali Balkanskoga Poluostrva
The present paper deals with holoplanktonic gastropods (Pteropoda) from the Middle Miocene (Badenian) deposits of Serbia. The material for the present study comes from three localities at the southern margin of the Pannonian Basin (Central Paratethys ...

Badenian sediments of Vučjak Hill (Ugljevik)

open access: yes, 2000
On Vučjak Hill near Ugljevik, sea sediments of the Badenian age were examined. Intrabadenian tectonic-erosional discordance divided these sediments in two mutually different sedimentary cycles. The first cycle formed from a large number of lithologically different units. It belongs to the Lower Badenian.
