The effect of Fusarium culmorum inoculation and deoxynivalenol application on proteome response in wheat cultivars Sumai 3 and SW Kadrilj

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2021
Fusarium head blight (FHB) represents a damaging disease of cereal spikes caused by mycotoxin-producing Fusarium fungi revealing adverse effects on grain quality and yield. Chinese spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cv. Sumai 3 represents a major source

White Light Enhances Adhesive Strength Between Epidermal and Inner Tissues of Pea Epicotyls via Accumulation of Cell Wall‐Bound p‐Coumaric Acid

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 178, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT The epidermal and inner tissues of stem organs adhere via the cell wall, and the adhesion of both tissues is involved in the structural integrity of the stem. We have developed a method to quantitatively measure adhesive strength between these tissues.

Crystal structure of barley agmatine coumaroyltransferase, an N-acyltransferase from the BAHD superfamily

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section F Structural Biology Communications, 2020
The enzymes of the BAHD superfamily, a large group of acyl-CoA-dependent acyltransferases in plants, are involved in the biosynthesis of diverse secondary metabolites. While the structures of several O-acyltransferases from the BAHD superfamily, such as hydroxycinnamoyl-CoA shikimate hydroxycinnamoyl transferase, have been elucidated, no structural ...

De Novo Transcriptomic Profiling of Piper chaba: Elucidating the Genetic Basis of Piperine Biosynthesis and Metabolic Pathways

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Medicinal plants serve as invaluable sources of bioactive compounds, yet the molecular basis of their secondary metabolite biosynthesis remains largely unexplored. Piper chaba Hunter, an important but understudied member of the Piperaceae family, is known for its pharmacologically active alkaloids, particularly piperine.

Comparative Proteomic Analysis of Self‐Compatible Turnera Mutants Suggests Glutathione S‐Transferase 8 Is Involved in Overcoming S‐Morph Female Self‐Incompatibility Response

open access: yesPlant Direct, Volume 9, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Distyly is a reproductive system, characterized by the presence of two floral morphs, which promotes outcrossing via physical and biochemical means. In distylous Turnera, the mating type of the S‐morph is determined by two genes: YUC6 (male) and BAHD (female).

Polyacylated Delphinidin Biosynthesis Catalysed by PhF3′5′H‐PhBGLU12‐PhSCPL2 Determines the Blue Pigmentation in Cineraria (Pericallis hybrida)

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 12, Page 5585-5599, December 2025.
ABSTRACT The polyacylation modification of anthocyanins constitutes a pivotal step for plants to develop persistent bright blue floral pigmentation, but the biosynthesis and regulatory mechanisms of polyacylated anthocyanin remain poorly understood.

Cooperation between a root fungal endophyte and host‐derived coumarin scopoletin mediates Arabidopsis iron nutrition

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 248, Issue 2, Page 857-871, October 2025.
Summary Iron acquisition is a critical challenge for plants, especially in iron‐deficient soils. Recent research underscores the importance of root‐exuded coumarins in modulating the root microbiome community structure and facilitating iron uptake. However, interactions between root‐associated fungi and coumarins in plant iron nutrition remain unknown.
