[Infant mortality in the State of Bahia, Brazil].

Within the limits of the system of collection of vital statistics in our milieu were presented Infant Mortality Rates for Salvador, there a steady decline is taking place, presumably due to improved water supply to the Capital of the State. Data in the interior of Bahia are unreliable since more than a third of infant deaths occur without medical care.
