New bainitic steels for forgings
Archives of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, 2012Steels with a bainitic microstructure offer great possibilities for highly stressed forged components. The variety of different bainitic morphologies requests for an aligned thermal treatment after forging in order to achieve the maximum performance.

High Performance Bainitic Steels
Materials Science Forum, 2005The choreography of atoms during the course of the bainite transformation has major consequences on the development of structure. In particular, the scale and extent of the structure is dependent directly on the fact that the atoms move in a disciplined fashion.

Aspect ratio of bainite in steels
Materials Letters, 2000The aspect ratios of bainitic plates formed in 10 experimental alloys have been statistically analyzed. The results, based on the measurements of 129 individual plates, show that the aspect ratio of bainite is less than 0.25, and generally less than 0.1, with the most frequent value around 0.025 and a theoretical minimum value of 0.008.

Development of a New Bainitic Steel
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2001<div class="htmlview paragraph">A high carbon, high silicon and high manganese steel containing about 1% carbon, 3.0% silicon and 2.0% manganese has been developed. This steel has been synthesized using the concepts from Austempered Ductile Cast Iron (ADI) technology.

Design of novel bainitic steels

ON THE CRYSTALLOGRAPHY OF BAINITIC TRANSFORMATION IN STEELS
2013Bainite is a low temperature transformation product of austenite decomposition in steels. Its unique range of microstructures offers promising combinations of strength with ductility. At low transformation temperatures the crystallography of a phase transformation often plays an important role in the overall microstructure and how it develops ...
