Quantitative results of algebraic independence and Baker's method [PDF]

open access: yesActa Arithmetica, 2005
Let \(\wp\) be a Weierstrass elliptic function with algebraic invariants \(g_{2}\), \(g_{3}\), let \(\beta\) be an algebraic number of degree \(\delta\geq 2\) over the field \(F\) of complex multiplication of the associated elliptic curve, \(u\) a complex number such that \(u\not\in\mathbb Q(\beta)\) and such that \(u,\beta u,\dots,\beta^{\delta-1}u ...

Tubular approaches to Baker’s method for curves and varieties

open access: yesAlgebra & Number Theory, 2020
Baker's method, relying on estimates on linear forms in logarithms of algebraic numbers, allows one to prove in several situations the effective finiteness of integral points on varieties. In this article, we give a generalisation of results of Levin regarding Baker's method for varieties, and explain how, quite surprisingly, it mixes (under additional

Enzymatic Activity Assays in Yeast Cell Extracts

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2014
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S. cerevisiae) (commonly known as baker’s yeast) is a model organism that has a similar upstream base excision repair (BER) pathway for the repair of methylated bases as that in mammalian cells, and it is very easy to maintain ...

ROUTINE METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF THE ACTIVITY OF BAKER'S YEAST [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Institute of Brewing, 1959
The baking-strength test, which estimates the fermentative activity of yeast in dough by measuring the time for a standard amount of dough to reach a fixed height under standardized conditions, is subject to a random error of about 2.0 min. In 70 min.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Isolation of GSH from Baker Yeast by Ultrasonic Method

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Biological Sciences, 2004
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of operating parameters such as the yeast concentration, processing temperature and isolation time on the isolation of GSH using Ultrasonic method. The disrupted cells solution was centrifuged at 12,000 rpm for 20 min and the GSH content in the supernatant was analyzed by taking the OD value of the ...

Application of the simplex method on profit maximization in Baker's Cottage

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 2022
Linear programming is an <span lang="EN-US">operational research technique widely used to identify and optimize management decision. Its application encourages businesses to increase their output. Instead, however, many organizations most commonly adopt the trial-and-error method.
