Covariate Balancing Sensitivity Analysis for Extrapolating Randomized Trials across Locations [PDF]
The ability to generalize experimental results from randomized control trials (RCTs) across locations is crucial for informing policy decisions in targeted regions. Such generalization is often hindered by the lack of identifiability due to unmeasured effect modifiers that compromise direct transport of treatment effect estimates from one location to ...

Center of mass perturbation as a normalizable estimate of dynamic balance in gait: an application comparing typically developing children with spastic cerebral palsy [PDF]
It is well recognized that the relative position of the center of mass (pCOM) with respect to the base of support (BOS) is a determining factor in the maintenance of balance. However, during gait the dynamic nature of the BOS is not well defined and in most studies is completely ignored.

The effect of ball exercise on the balance ability of young adults
[Purpose] The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of static and dynamic balance by using Medicine-ball and Swiss-ball exercises. [Subjects and Methods] Thirty-six normal adults who agreed to participate were included in the study. Subjects were randomly assigned to the Medicine-ball (n=18) and Swiss-ball groups (n=18).

Effects of Mechanical Coupling on the Dynamics of Balancing Tasks [PDF]
Coupled human balancing tasks are investigated based on both pseudo-neural controllers characterized by time-delayed feedback with random gain and natural human balancing tasks. It is shown numerically that, compared to single balancing tasks, balancing tasks coupled by mechanical structures exhibit enhanced stability against balancing errors in terms ...

Relationship between Walking Ability and Balance Function
Timed Up and Go test (TUG)

Level the Level: Balancing Game Levels for Asymmetric Player Archetypes With Reinforcement Learning [PDF]
Balancing games, especially those with asymmetric multiplayer content, requires significant manual effort and extensive human playtesting during development. For this reason, this work focuses on generating balanced levels tailored to asymmetric player archetypes, where the disparity in abilities is balanced entirely through the level design.

Graceful User Following for Mobile Balance Assistive Robot in Daily Activities Assistance [PDF]
Numerous diseases and aging can cause degeneration of people's balance ability resulting in limited mobility and even high risks of fall. Robotic technologies can provide more intensive rehabilitation exercises or be used as assistive devices to compensate for balance ability.
