We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

The performance of the adaptive optimal estimator under the extended balanced loss function
The adaptive optimal estimator of Farebrother (1975) is discussed by many authors, but the goodness of fitted model criterion that is used to investigate the performance of estimators is quite often ignored.

A ranking-based, balanced loss function unifying classification and localisation in object detection [PDF]
We propose average Localisation-Recall-Precision (aLRP), a unified, bounded, balanced and ranking-based loss function for both classification and localisation tasks in object detection.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A generalization of the credibility theory obtained by using the weighted balanced loss function
n this paper an alternative to the usual credibility premium that arises for weighted balanced loss function is considered. This is a generalized loss function which includes as a particular case the weighted quadratic loss function traditionally used in

Deep Supervised Hashing for Fast Multi-Label Image
In this paper, most of the existing Hashing methods is mapping the hand extracted features to binary code, and designing the loss function with the label of images.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
