Post-peak compressive response and energy absorption of ternary pozzolanic mortar reinforced with PVA fibers

open access: yesOpen Engineering
Brittleness of concrete and poor post-cracking performance is a big challenge to develop ductile and sustainable cementitious materials. This paper investigates the impact of ternary pozzolanic blend and PVA fiber on mechanical performance and the post ...

Constructions of balanced ternary designs based on generalized Bhaskar Rao designs

open access: yes, 1993
New series of balanced ternary designs and partially balanced ternary designs are obtained. Some of the designs in the series are non-isomorphic solutions for design parameters which were previously known or whose solution was obtained by trial and error,

High speed bi-directional binary-ternary interface with CNTFETS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The world is built on binary electronics, thus high speed and bi-directional radix conversion is needed to enable billions of binary devices to co-exist with non-binary ones.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

High‐Performance X‐Band Electromagnetic Interference Shielding in Flexible Barium Hexaferrite/Cobalt‐Based Microwires/Silicone Rubber Ternary Composites via Magnetic–Conductive Synergy

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials
Modern electronic systems increasingly demand lightweight, flexible electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials. We report, for the first time, a ternary composite of barium hexaferrite (BHF) particles and cobalt (Co)‐based microwires (Co ...

Model development of isopropanol dehydration from binary and ternary mixtures with pervaporation: Comparison and environmental evaluation of hybrid separation methods

open access: yesResults in Engineering
This study investigates the separation of isopropanol (IPA) from water and ethanol (EtOH) using hybrid distillation-hydrophilic pervaporation (D+HPV), distillation-hydrophilic pervaporation-distillation (D+HPV+D), and distillation-hydrophilic ...

The number of repeated blocks in balanced ternary designs with block size three II

open access: yes, 1991
Let D denote any balanced ternary design on v elements with block size three, index two, and ϱ2 = 2 (so each element occurs repeated in precisely two blocks).

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Anaerobic Co-Digestion of Swine Wastewater, Cheese Whey and Organic Waste: Performance Optimization Through Mixture Design

open access: yesBiomass
Anaerobic co-digestion of agro-industrial and municipal biowastes can enhance methane production, but the optimal mixture depends on nonlinear interactions among substrates.

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.
