Feedback control of unstable steady states of flow past a flat plate using reduced-order estimators [PDF]
We present an estimator-based control design procedure for flow control, using reduced-order models of the governing equations, linearized about a possibly unstable steady state.

Causal and stable reduced-order model for linear high-frequency systems [PDF]
With the ever-growing complexity of high-frequency systems in the electronic industry, formation of reduced-order models of these systems is paramount.

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Model Reduction of Parametric Differential-Algebraic Systems by Balanced Truncation
We deduce a procedure to apply balanced truncation to parameter-dependent differential-algebraic systems. For that we solve multiple projected Lyapunov equations for different parameter values to compute the Gramians that are required for the truncation ...

Balanced truncation for time-delay systems via approximate gramians [PDF]
In circuit simulation, when a large RLC network is connected with delay elements, such as transmission lines, the resulting system is a time-delay system (TDS). This paper presents a new model order reduction (MOR) scheme for TDSs with state time delays.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.
