Cryptography using Fibonacci-Mersenne and Fibonacci-balancing p-sequences with a self-invertible matrix and the Affine-Hill cipher [PDF]

open access: yesNotes on Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics
In this paper, we define two new sequences using the Fibonacci p-numbers, the generalized Mersenne numbers, and m-balancing numbers. These sequences are obtained from the corresponding characteristic polynomials.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Affine–Hill cipher from Hadamard-type Fibonacci–Mersenne and Fibonacci-balancing p-sequences [PDF]

open access: yesNotes on Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics
In this paper, we define two new sequences using the generalized Mersenne numbers, Fibonacci p-numbers, and m-balancing numbers. These sequences are constructed using the Hadamard-type product of their characteristic polynomials.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

A New Identity Involving Balancing Polynomials and Balancing Numbers [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2019
In this paper, a second-order nonlinear recursive sequence M ( h , i ) is studied. By using this sequence, the properties of the power series, and the combinatorial methods, some interesting symmetry identities of the structural properties of balancing numbers and balancing polynomials are deduced.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Higher-order balancing numbers: new sequences, recurrence relations, generating functions and identities

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Математика сериясы
In this article, we study a novel extension of the classic balancing numbers, referred to as the higher-order balancing numbers and denoted by. This sequence is analogous to the higher-order Fibonacci numbers and follows the same recurrence relation as ...

Solving the Problem of Time, Cost, and Quality Trade-Off in Project Scheduling under Fuzzy Conditions Using Meta-Heuristic Algorithms

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2022
Balancing the project’s time, cost, and quality involves deciding on different implementation methods for each project activity. Time and cost are minimized simultaneously, and the quality of the final product or service is maximized.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
