Predictive model for ball mill wear

Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly, 1997
Abstract Ball mills, characteristic of the mineral processing industry, are used to reduce ore from one size distribution to another. Wear is associated with comminution mechanisms found in the ball charge which in turn affects grinding performance.

FeAl alloy disordered by ball-milling

Intermetallics, 1995
Abstract Fe-40 at% Al powder was ball-milled in a planetary mill, and it was found that 8 h milling sufficed to remove all long-range order. The lattice parameter increased by 0.8%, the increase continued somewhat after all X-ray evidence of long-range order had disappeared. The findings are discussed in relation to other methods which have been used

Mechanoactivation of Ni-Al blends in a ball mill: Influence of ball/mill ratio

International Journal of Self-Propagating High-Temperature Synthesis, 2015
Influence of ball/mill ratio on the characteristics of Ni-Al blends mechanically activated in a ball mill was explored. Burning velocity, microstructure of composite particulates, parameters of XRD diffraction patterns, density of green compacts, and their elongation during combustion were measured as a function of the overall mass (m) of the balls ...
