THIN-WALLED FOUR-POINT CONTACT BALL BEARING CONTACT FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2018
Based on the ANSYS finite element software, the method of dividing the contact area of the four point contact ball bearing is proposed. Establish a uniform thin four point contact ball bearing 1/2 single rolling and ring and the bearing finite element ...

High Pressure Densification Investigation of Li3PS4 and Li6PS5Cl Solid Electrolytes using Combine X‐Ray Diffraction, X‐Ray Absorption Tomography and Ionic Measurement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We used multiple analytical techniques at the Psiché beamline, Synchrotron Soleil, and at D20 instrument in Institut Laue Langevin, to study the densification of thiophosphate solid electrolytes Li3PS4 and Li6PS5Cl. Our combined X‐ray diffraction, absorption tomography, absorption density, neutron power diffraction, and ionic conductivity analyses ...

Assembly of Cell‐Seeded 3D Printed Hydrogel Modules with Perfusable Channel Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Macroscale assembly was utilized to prepare perfusable tissue constructs from individually 3D printed hydrogel modules with embedded branched channel networks and port arrays for cell seeding. Novel multi‐material bioreactors were fabricated to facilitate the gluing of individual modules and the perfusion culture of assembled modular constructs seeded ...

Are Buckminsterfullerenes Molecular Ball Bearings? [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2018
Buckminsterfullerenes (C60) are near-spherical molecules, which freely rotate at room temperature in the solid state and when dissolved in solution. An intriguing question arises as to whether C60 molecules can act as "molecular ball bearings," that is, preventing direct contact between two solid surfaces while simultaneously dissipating shear stress ...

MXene/PEDOT Functional Coatings on Flexible Microelectrode Arrays for Multianalyte In Vivo Neurochemical Sensing and Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A MXene/PEDOT coating enables multimodal functionality and dual‐analyte detection of dopamine and serotonin in flexible microelectrode arrays while enhancing electrophysiological recording quality. The anti‐fouling, low‐impedance interface overcomes key limitations of conventional coatings, providing a robust and versatile platform to investigate the ...

Optical Tests of a 3.7-m diameter Liquid Mirror: Behavior under External Perturbations

open access: yes, 2001
We have built and tested a 3.7-m diameter liquid mirror that rotates on a ball bearing. We have carried out extensive optical tests. We find that although the ball bearing has a poor quality, the quality of the mirror, with mercury layers 1-mm thick, is ...

High‐Throughput Exfoliation of Optoelectronic‐Grade MoS2 via Turbulent‐Flow Wet Jet Milling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable wet jet milling exfoliation method is demonstrated for producing optoelectronic‐grade MoS2 nanosheets using environmentally friendly ethyl cellulose in ethanol dispersion media. Guided by fluid dynamics modeling, this approach is optimized to achieve record‐high exfoliation throughput and concentration.
