Magnetic properties of Fe1−xZrx in ball milling process

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1995
Abstract Structural features and magnetic properties of Fe 1− x Zr x upon ball milling were investigated by X-ray diffraction, magnetization measurements and Mossbauer spectroscopy. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the milled Fe 0.9 Zr 0.1 did not clearly show a sign of existence of an amorphous phase.

Optimization of processing parameters of a ball mill refiner for chocolate

Journal of Food Engineering, 2007
The aim of this work was to optimize the ball mill based refining process of chocolate, in terms of refining time and energy consumption. Experiments were planned following a central composite design (CCD), considering refining time (rt) and agitator shaft speed (as) as factors.

The prediction of cutting forces in the ball-end milling process

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 1995
Abstract This paper presents the development and verification of a predictive model for the force system in ball-end milling. The force model is essentially derived from metal cutting theory and for the geometric relations of the ball-end milling process. A concise method for characterizing the complex geometry of a ball-end mill is first determined.

A study on the effect of process parameters in stirred ball mill

Advanced Powder Technology, 2011
Abstract An experimental study on the fine grinding of calcite powder ( d 50  = 62.16 μm) using a 0.75  l laboratory stirred ball mill has been carried out. The effects of various operating factors, such as grinding time (min), stirrer speed (rpm), slurry density (wt.%) and ball filling ratio on fine grinding was studied under batch wet conditions ...

Cutting process of glass with inclined ball end mill

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2008
Abstract Cutting processes with ball end mills are discussed for machining microgrooves on glasses. A surface is finished in undeformed chip thickness less than 1 μm at the beginning and at the end of the cut during the cutter rotation. The milling process is applied to glass machining.

Transformation of carbon nanotubes to nanoparticles by ball milling process

Carbon, 1999
Abstract Carbon nanotubes were treated by high-energy ball milling processing for different milling times, and the samples were observed by HRTEM. The broken nanotubes and lots of carbon onion-like particles were obtained in the sample milled for 15 min. When the milling time was up to 60 min, carbon nanotubes turned into amorphous carbon.

Estimation of in-process cutting constants in ball-end milling

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture, 2003
Two methods are presented for the estimation of tangential, radial and axial cutting coefficients for the shearing and ploughing mechanisms from a single set of cutting forces in ball-end milling. These estimation methods are based upon the invertibility of the analytical milling force model, which considers both the shearing and the ploughing ...

Grinding Process of Ball End Milling Cutter Flank

Key Engineering Materials, 2018
In this paper, the mathematical model of "S" - shaped cutting-edge curve is optimized, and the position and orientation of the grinding wheel of the first and second flank of the ball end milling cutter are calculated, The correctness of the algorithm is verified by VERICUT simulation.
