Carbon tubes produced during high-energy ball milling process
Scripta Materialia, 2006Abstract Carbon nanotubes having diameters of 10–300 nm and lengths up to several micrometers have been fabricated from graphite powder by high-energy ball milling. Due to the impact of milling balls, the graphite sheets were curled into tubes during the milling process. The formation mechanism of the present carbon tubes is completely different from

Mathematical Modeling of High Energy Ball Milling (HEBM) Process
Defect and Diffusion Forum, 2014In the present study the modeling of the HEBM process is presented. The impact velocity, impact angle, rotation speed, mass of balls, ball-to-powder weight ratio and time of milling have been taken into account in order to calculate the energy transferred from the balls to the powder.

Intelligent optimal control system for ball mill grinding process
Journal of Control Theory and Applications, 2013Operation aim of ball mill grinding process is to control grinding particle size and circulation load to ball mill into their objective limits respectively, while guaranteeing producing safely and stably. The grinding process is essentially a multi-input multi-output system (MIMO) with large inertia, strong coupling and uncertainty characteristics ...

Constrained model predictive control in ball mill grinding process
Powder Technology, 2008Stable control of grinding process is of great importance for improvements of operation efficiency, the recovery of the valuable minerals, and significant reductions of production costs in concentration plants. Decoupled multi-loop PID controllers are usually carried out to manage to eliminate the effects of interactions among the control loops, but ...

Cutting process of glass with inclined ball end mill
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2008Abstract Cutting processes with ball end mills are discussed for machining microgrooves on glasses. A surface is finished in undeformed chip thickness less than 1 μm at the beginning and at the end of the cut during the cutter rotation. The milling process is applied to glass machining.

Artificial Neural Network Modeling of Ball Mill Grinding Process
Journal of Powder Metallurgy and Mining, 2013Grinding consumes around 2% of the energy produced in the world but existing methods of milling are very inefficient and use only 5% of the input energy for real size reduction rest is consumed by machine itself. Chrome ores are comminute, filtered, pelletized and sintered to use into submerged arc furnace for ferrochrome production.
