Study of the influence of hornification treatment and jute and mallow fiber length on the physical, thermal, and mechanical properties of recycled polypropylene (PP) composites. ABSTRACT The growing accumulation of plastic waste has driven its reuse in the development of new composites, with natural fibers emerging as promising reinforcements. However,

How branching can change the conductance of ballistic semiconductor devices
We demonstrate that branching of the electron flow in semiconductor nanostructures can strongly affect macroscopic transport quantities and can significantly change their dependence on external parameters compared to the ideal ballistic case even when ...

Modeling of Advanced Combat Helmet Under Ballistic Impact
The use of combat helmets has greatly reduced penetrating injuries and saved lives of many soldiers. However, behind helmet blunt trauma (BHBT) has emerged as a serious injury type experienced by soldiers in battlefields. BHBT results from nonpenetrating ballistic impacts and is often associated with helmet back face deformation (BFD).

ABSTRACT We examine the new energetic plasticizer 3‐(2‐(2‐(2‐azidoethoxy)ethoxy)ethoxy)‐4‐nitro‐1,2,5‐oxadiazole (NFPEG3N3), three reference compounds (BDNPA/F, Bu‐NENA, and DNDA‐57), and a plasticizer‐free control in a fixed HMX/GAP composite. NFPEG3N3 provides the strongest low‐temperature properties, yielding the lowest formulation glass transition ...

Development of impact resistant boron/aluminum composites for turbojet engine fan blades [PDF]
Composite fabrication was performed by vacuum press diffusion bonding by both the foil-filament array and preconsolidated monotape methods. The effect of matrix material, fiber diameter, matrix enhancement, fiber volume reinforcement, test temperature ...

A two‐step approach based on broad‐beam ion irradiation is demonstrated to produce fine‐tuned self‐assembled surface patterns on MgO(001). It shows an efficient route to modifying the crystalline MgO(001) surface topography in a controlled way, making use of its very specific behavior in terms of both the pattern morphology and patterning dynamics.

EFFECT OF PROJECTILE NOSE SHAPE ON BALLISTIC RESISTANCE OF THIN POLYCARBONATE PLATE (MT)
In order to study the influence of warhead shape on the impact performance of polycarbonate(PC) plate against rod projectile, the impact tests of flat-head, hemispherical-head and ogival-head rod projectile with 12.6 mm diameter were carried out by gas ...
