Numerical simulation of composite armor subjected to ballistic impact
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2019Abstract Composite materials are widely used in the engineering field due to their high strength-to-weight ratio which offers enhanced mechanical behaviour of the components. Some of the widely used fields for the composite materials are body armors, safety shoes, sports and in many other regions.

Ballistic impact of fibre composite armours by fragment-simulating projectiles
Composites Part A: Applied Science and Manufacturing, 1996Abstract Tests have been conducted in which 1.1 g fragment-simulating projectiles (FSPs) were fired at nylon 6,6/ ethylene vinyl acetate composite laminates. The laminates were manufactured at two pressing loads and two values of areal density (mass per unit area).

The Oblique Water Entry Impact of a Torpedo and Its Ballistic Trajectory Simulation
2010The torpedo water entry impact has a great effect on its underwater ballistic trajectory. In the paper, by wind tunnel experiments we get the torpedo water entry drag coefficient, amending it with supercavitation continuous factor and local cavity effect factor, and then the torpedo motion equation is established.

Numerical simulation of ceramic composite armor subjected to ballistic impact
Composites Part B: Engineering, 2010Abstract Armor systems made of ceramic and composite materials are widely used in ballistic applications to defeat armor piercing (AP) projectiles. Both the designers and users of body armor face interesting choices – how best to balance the competing requirements posed by weight, thickness and cost of the armor package for a particular threat level.

Influence of Several Parameters on Simulating the Ballistic Impact on a Homogenous Plate
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014This paper presents a simulation of a bullet impact on a plate made of a homogeneous and isotropic material. The developed model takes into account the yield and fracture limits of both involved materials for the bullet and the plate one. The model was developed with the help of Ansys 14.0 and could be used to establish a theoretical value of the plate

Ballistic impact simulation for the safety in tool machines
2012Numerical control (CNC) boring and routing machines use curtains made from resistant, but flexible materials to protect end-users from the projection of tool pieces. These curtains allow the work piece to gently pass through, but have to firmly stop every small sharp piece or fragment ejected by fast drilling tools at the highest speed.

A Simple Analytical Model to Simulate Oblique Ballistic Impact onto Fabric
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011A simple analytical model for oblique ballistic impact of projectiles into fabrics are presented. This model is extension of Chocron-Benloulo penetration model. Results are compared with experimental data. There is good agreement between analytical and experimental results.
