Fractional Moment Theory for Anomalous Transport: A Unified Framework for Lévy Flights, Fractals, and Complex Dynamical Systems

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 13, Page 14964-15009, 15 September 2026.
ABSTRACT We develop a unified mathematical framework extending classical moment theory from discrete integer orders to a continuous spectrum of real orders f>0$$ f>0 $$, providing a systematic statistical characterization of complex systems exhibiting power‐law behavior.

Perforation of welded aluminum extrusions

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
A purely numerical procedure for predicting the perforation resistance of welded extruded AA6082-T6 aluminum profiles is presented in this study. The numerical work was conducted completely independent of the experimental tests that were only used for ...

Finite element simulation of ballistic impact on composite plates

open access: yes, 2021
In this study, effect of reinforcement type and different numerical composite damage material models were investigated in high velocity impact applications. Aramid and carbon-aramid hybrid fibers were used as a reinforcement material and epoxy was used as matrix in the composite plate.

Maximum‐Entropy‐Based Meshless Modeling of Surface‐Tension‐Driven Large Deformation

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 17, 15 September 2026.
ABSTRACT Soft material modeling is challenging due, among others, to the substantial structural changes these materials undergo. In this context, meshless methods offer a promising alternative to overcome the limitations of established mesh‐based approximations such as finite elements. However, they introduce new challenges.

A New Paradigm for Understanding the Rheology and Processability of Poly(p‐Phenylene Terephthalamide) Liquid‐Crystalline Solutions

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 34, September 10, 2026.
Kevlar is traditionally modeled as a rigid‐rod polymer, yet rheological behavior deviates from this assumption. The review introduces a novel “twist‐tie” entanglement theory for aramid polymer chains in the nematic liquid crystal state, providing a molecular explanation for deviations from rigid‐rod models. Understanding twist‐tie entanglement dynamics

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 17, 9 September 2026.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Unveiling the armor: experimental study on ballistic impact resistance of silica aerogel, sorbothane, and graphite sandwich composites

open access: yesDiscover Materials
Ballistic armour is intended to save lives by absorbing the impact of bullets and preventing them from entering the wearer’s body. Especially for police enforcement, security, and military professionals.
