Dynamic response of high-entropy alloys to ballistic impact
High-entropy alloys (HEAs) are promising to provide effective antiballistic capability because of their superior mechanical properties. However, the twinning-active Cantor alloy is found less ballistic resistant, compared with its Mn-free companion.

Simulation on a Composite Laminate Subjected to Ballistic Impact [PDF]
A finite element model was developed to study the damage mechanisms of composite laminates under high velocity impact conditions. Modified Hashin failure criteria were used for the fiber breakage prediction. Cohesive elements were defined between two adjacent layers in the target laminate for the prediction of delamination initiation and propagation ...

Ballistic Impact Simulation of Ceramic/Metal Armor Structures
The study presents a comparative numerical investigation on ballistic performance of ceramic/metal armor structures. 2D axisymmetric numerical model was developed for ballistic impact simulations using LS-DYNA ® finite element software. The armor structures included combinations of boron carbide (B 4 C), Al6061-T6 and 4340 steel constituents.
