ABSTRACT Purpose To evaluate single‐ and dual‐band pulse modules for suppressing extra‐cardiac signal in cardiac MRI, and test their applicability for time‐efficient imaging with reduced FOV in myocardial T2 mapping at 3 T. Methods Outer Volume Suppression (OVS) was implemented using two regional saturation slabs, along the phase‐encoding direction ...

The ballistic resistance of auxetic re‐entrant honeycomb structures can be significantly improved through geometric tailoring and structural reinforcement. Vertical and horizontal stiffening ribs enhanced the ballistic performance, increasing the energy absorption efficiency by 119.45% and the projectile velocity reduction by 281.36%, ultimately ...

Efficient circuit-level modelling of ballistic CNT using piecewise non-linear approximation of mobile charge density [PDF]
This paper presents a new carbon nanotube transistor (CNT) modelling technique which is based on an efficient numerical piece-wise non-linear approximation of the non-equilibrium mobile charge density.

ABSTRACT As a crucial puzzle piece of deep space exploration, exploring small bodies can provide significant scientific insights and valuable mineral resources. Unlike missions to the Moon and Mars, small‐body missions pose distinct technical challenges, including communication delays, weak gravity, and uncertain environments. This paper reviews a full

Reconfiguration of Mercury's Exosphere During Strong Space Weather Events
Abstract Mercury is exposed to various space weathering processes, which alter the surface and cause emission of atoms and molecules into the exosphere. The exosphere thus allows remote insights into the surface composition and erosion processes, with the emission of refractory elements such as Ca and Mg typically being dominated by micrometeoroid ...

Experimental verification of numerical simulation of projectile impact on ballistic shields
Abstract In this work, the author presents experimental verification of numerical simulation of projectile impact on constructional shields. The experimental tests were performed at a unified test stand to investigate ballistic resistance of materials in field conditions.

Abstract SO2 flux and gas composition were measured during the 2021 flank eruption of Pacaya Volcano (Guatemala). The SO2 flux, measured with Tropomi, gradually rose from ∼2 to ∼30 kg/s over a 5 month period before the eruption. Field UV camera data showed that >95% of the SO2 was emitted from the summit crater.

Abstract Determining marsquake magnitudes is essential for assessing seismic activity on Mars, yet previous estimates neglect three‐dimensional (3D) scattering effects. The exceptionally long‐lasting coda of the largest recorded marsquake, S1222a, provides a unique opportunity to quantify how crustal heterogeneities affect waveform propagation and ...
