A Power‐Efficient Monte Carlo Framework for Nonlinear Light–Matter Interactions: In Silico Modeling of Spontaneous and Stimulated Raman Scattering in Turbid Media

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 57, Issue 7, Page 1283-1295, July 2026.
Power‐efficient Monte Carlo modeling of nonlinear light–matter interactions in turbid media is demonstrated using Apple Silicon–accelerated photon transport. The Metal‐base framework enables accurate simulation of spontaneous and stimulated Raman scattering, revealing detection‐dependent SRS efficiency while providing a scalable, energy‐efficient ...

Study of prompt gamma and neutron emission for real‐time range verification in proton and carbon‐ion therapy

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 53, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Background Accurate range verification is crucial in hadrontherapy to fully exploit the ballistic advantages of charged particles and prevent damage to healthy tissues. Among the proposed approaches, prompt gamma imaging (PGI) has emerged as an effective technique for real‐time monitoring, but its performance is limited by the intense neutron ...

Simulation‐Informed Evaluation of Microvascular Parameter Mapping for Diffusion MR Imaging of Solid Tumours

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 387-402, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose We aim to inform the design of new diffusion MRI (dMRI) approaches for microvasculature quantification that enhance the biological specificity of imaging towards cancer. Methods We adopted simulation‐informed modelling of the vascular dMRI signal. We synthesised signals from 1500 synthetic vascular networks, for a variety of protocols (

Tuning the Morphology of Self‐Assembled Nanopatterns on MgO(001) Surfaces by Sequential Broad‐Beam Ion Irradiation

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
A two‐step approach based on broad‐beam ion irradiation is demonstrated to produce fine‐tuned self‐assembled surface patterns on MgO(001). It shows an efficient route to modifying the crystalline MgO(001) surface topography in a controlled way, making use of its very specific behavior in terms of both the pattern morphology and patterning dynamics.

Simultaneous Deposition of Different Phase‐Change Alloys Through a Nanopillars Shadow Procedure

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
A deposition strategy enabling controlled nanoscale stoichiometry modulation in Ge‐Sb‐Te phase‐change materials is presented. Directional elemental fluxes and shadowing effects induced by nanopillar arrays generate distinct Ge‐, Sb‐, and Te‐deficient regions within a single specimen.

Josephson Coupling Through a Magnetic Racetrack

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
A Josephson junction formed by two superconducting electrodes connected through a ferromagnetic racetrack hosts a movable Bloch‐like domain wall in its ferromagnetic region. The domain‐wall position redirects supercurrent flow, strongly modulates the critical current, and switches the junction between 0 and π states, enabling magnetic‐texture control ...

Unveiling Non‐classical Pathways in Copper Electrodeposition via In Situ Electrochemical Liquid‐Cell Transmission Electron Microscopy

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2026.
In situ electrochemical transmission electron microscopy reveals dynamic nanoparticle behavior during copper electrodeposition, from lateral motion and Ostwald ripening to coalescence and surface‐energy‐driven restructuring. These nanoscale processes occur “silently,” undetectable in bulk electrochemical signals, highlighting the importance of real ...

Mission Design and Early Navigation Operations for the Lunar Trailblazer Mission

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Lunar Trailblazer is a smallsat mission launched on 27 February 2025 as a secondary payload with the Intuitive Machines IM‐2 mission. After insertion into a near‐polar circular orbit around the Moon, the mission's goal was to search and characterize lunar water, primarily looking for ice in permanently shadowed craters and water bound in ...
