Abstract figure legend Three weeks of unilateral resistance training (RT) performed under metronome‐paced (MP‐RT) or self‐paced (SP‐RT) conditions increased strength (maximum voluntary force (MVF) and one‐repetition maximum (1RM)) but were accompanied by distinct neural adaptations.

Helmeted hornbill cranial kinesis: Balancing mobility and stability in a high‐impact joint
Abstract Prokinesis—in which a craniofacial joint allows the rostrum to move relative to the braincase—is thought to confer diverse advantages in birds, mostly for feeding. A craniofacial joint would, however, be a weak link if cranial stability is important. Paradoxically, we have identified a craniofacial joint in helmeted hornbills (Rhinoplax vigil),

ABSTRACT This study assessed general and more detailed post‐activation performance enhancement responses to cluster sets (CS) + accentuated eccentric loading (AEL) versus a traditional method (TRD) in vertical jump performance and strategy. Six men and six women completed lower‐body complex training: countermovement jump was performed at baseline and 1‐

Incorporating Particle Settling Enhancement in a Coarse‐Mode Deposition Model
Abstract Dry deposition rates are usually assumed to rely primarily on gravitational settling, with some enhancement due to interactions with surface elements. However, it is known through experiment, theory, and simulation that vertical velocities of particles in turbulent flows can be enhanced by hydrodynamic effects (often referred to as ...

Is the Deep Martian Mantle Heterogeneous? A Reappraisal of Seismological Evidences
Abstract It has been proposed that the deep Martian mantle contains distributed heterogeneities preserved since the accretion of the planet. This result relies on a multiple‐scattering interpretation of frequency‐dependent arrival times of P $P$‐waves detected in the spectrograms of teleseismic Martian events.

Scalable Thermal Engineering via Femtosecond Laser‐Direct‐Written Phononic Nanostructures
This study demonstrates that femtosecond laser‐induced periodic surface structures (fs‐LIPSS) can function as phononic metasurfaces, reducing thermal conductivity below the plain thin‐film limit. Phonon Monte Carlo analysis reveals that the periodic structures restrict phonon mean free paths.

ABSTRACT Background Muscle atrophy and weakness are among the most detrimental consequences of disuse, microgravity, hospitalisation and ageing. Oxidative modifications of myofibrillar proteins generated by oxidative stress may contribute to the reduced force‐ and power‐generating capacity of skeletal muscles. As part of the 60‐day AGBRESA bed rest (BR)

Validation of Intravoxel Incoherent Motion MRI Using Perfused Explanted Human Livers
ABSTRACT Purpose Evaluate the feasibility of using perfused explanted human livers for validating intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM). Methods Eight (n = 8) explanted livers from deceased donors were obtained. The portal vein and hepatic artery of each explanted liver were connected to a perfusion system.

The Effect of Voxel Volume and Voxel Shape on Cardiac Diffusion Tensor Imaging Metrics
ABSTRACT Purpose Cardiac diffusion tensor imaging (cDTI) is signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR)‐limited due to diffusion signal attenuation, long echo times from gradient moment nulling, and moderate myocardial T 2$$ {}_2 $$. Increasing voxel volume improves SNR but reduces spatial sensitivity and introduces physiological bias.
