Israel's Post‐War Healthcare Obligations

open access: yesBioethics, Volume 40, Issue 8, Page 828-832, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Since the beginning of the Israel–Hamas war in 2023, the healthcare infrastructure within Gaza has been dismantled. While international humanitarian law mandates distinction between lawful targets (combatants and military objectives) and non‐lawful targets (civilians and civilian objects), and acknowledging the inherent complexities of ...

Reconfiguration of Mercury's Exosphere During Strong Space Weather Events

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract Mercury is exposed to various space weathering processes, which alter the surface and cause emission of atoms and molecules into the exosphere. The exosphere thus allows remote insights into the surface composition and erosion processes, with the emission of refractory elements such as Ca and Mg typically being dominated by micrometeoroid ...

Recycled Polyacrylonitrile Nanofiber Interleaves With Graphene Nanoplatelets for Adhesively Bonded Composite Joints: Lap‐Shear and Opening‐Mode Fracture Performance

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 18, Page 16193-16211, 20 September 2026.
Textile‐waste Orlon is transformed into recycled PAN nanofiber interleaves for tougher and more damage‐resistant adhesive bondlines. ABSTRACT This study presents a sustainable toughening strategy for adhesively bonded CFRP joints by using electrospun polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofiber interleaves produced from virgin PAN (vPAN) and recycled PAN (rPAN ...

Gas Measurements Reveal Fractional Degassing and Water Interaction During a Flank Eruption of Pacaya Volcano (Guatemala)

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 17, 16 September 2026.
Abstract SO2 flux and gas composition were measured during the 2021 flank eruption of Pacaya Volcano (Guatemala). The SO2 flux, measured with Tropomi, gradually rose from ∼2 to ∼30 kg/s over a 5 month period before the eruption. Field UV camera data showed that >95% of the SO2 was emitted from the summit crater.

Numerical Simulations of 3D Scattering Structures Reveal Systematic Underestimation of Marsquake Magnitudes

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 17, 16 September 2026.
Abstract Determining marsquake magnitudes is essential for assessing seismic activity on Mars, yet previous estimates neglect three‐dimensional (3D) scattering effects. The exceptionally long‐lasting coda of the largest recorded marsquake, S1222a, provides a unique opportunity to quantify how crustal heterogeneities affect waveform propagation and ...
