Transient ST-segment elevation due to coronary slow flow during cryoballoon application

open access: yesTürk Kardiyoloji Derneği Arşivi, 2018
This report is a description of a rare case of transient ST-segment elevation during cryoballoon application for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF). A 74-year-old male with symptomatic PAF was referred to the center for ablation. During cryoablation of

Compliant Pneumatic Feet with Real‐Time Stiffness Adaptation for Humanoid Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A compliant pneumatic foot with real‐time variable stiffness enables humanoid robots to adapt to changing terrains. Using onboard vision and pressure control, the foot modulates stiffness within each gait cycle, reducing impact forces and improving balance. The design, cast in soft silicone with embedded air chambers and Kevlar wrapping, offers durable,

Real‐Time Holographic Feedback via Mixed Reality Sensorized Laryngoscope Training System Enhances Pediatric Intubation Training

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
We proposed a Mixed Reality Sensorized Laryngoscope Training System to provide real‐time holographic torque feedback during pediatric endotracheal intubation simulation. Visualization formats are evaluated to reduce tracking error and visual demand.

CSH Program or the American way of life. Californian domestic icons of the 50s

open access: yesVLC Arquitectura, 2021
After World War II a new order emerged amongst the ruins, the devastation and the Allied triumph. The United States, more than any other country, emerged as a new world power with an optimism founded on victory as much as on its untouched territory and ...

On the Ballooning of Yarn on a Ring Spinning Frame : The Effect of Feeding Speed

open access: yesJournal of the Textile Machinary Society, 1953

An Anterior Cingulate Cortex‐Anterior Insular Cortex Glutamatergic Circuit Gates Stress‐Induced Visceral Hypersensitivity and Anxiety via Ionotropic Glutamate Receptors Trafficking

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies an anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) to anterior insular cortex (AIC) glutamatergic (Glu) circuit that gates stress induced visceral hypersensitivity and anxiety. Circuit activation induces both phenotypes, whereas inhibition relieves them.

Inflammatory Response Following Peripheral Endovascular Treatment Correlates with the Extent of Periprocedural Arterial Injury

open access: yesActa Clinica Croatica, 2018
The aim was to examine whether the postprocedural change in C-reactive protein (CRP) and fibrinogen levels was associated with the extent of periprocedural arterial injury caused by endovascular treatment (EVT). The study recruited 71 patients undergoing

Bioinspired Passive Flow Routing to Mitigate Thrombosis in Prosthetic Heart Valves and Cardiovascular Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bioinspired passive flow routing mitigates thrombosis in cardiovascular devices by redirecting a small fraction of forward flow into stagnation‐prone regions. Inspired by avian alula and aircraft slat mechanisms, strategically placed routing channels restore washout around mechanical heart valves, reducing low‐shear exposure by four orders of magnitude

Stochastic Entanglement of Deterministic Origami Tentacles For Robust Robotic Grasping

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces an origami tentacle gripper to robustly grasp objects‐in air, underwater, and even in orbital space‐by exploiting a synergy between local, deterministic deformation programming and global, stochastic entanglements. A single origami tentacle can be designed to coil with a simple tendon pull.

Coronary sinus filling time as a marker of microvascular dysfunction in patients with angina and normal coronaries

open access: yesResearch in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2019
Objective: Although chest pain and normal coronary arteries (known as cardiac syndrome X [CSX]) remained a prevalent clinical condition, underlying pathogenesis has not been fully explained.
