Desilication of bamboo for pulp production
TAPPI Journal, 2015Bamboo is one of the world’s fastest growing feedstocks. It is a promising nonwood resource that can be used in the pulp and paper industry. Among more than 1200 species of bamboo, the timber varieties can be processed much like trees, allowing current pulp mill logistical systems to be used.

Characterization and acetylation behavior of bamboo pulp
Wood Science and Technology, 2008In the present study, the chemical–physical properties of bamboo pulp prepared with a sequential totally chlorine-free procedure were analyzed and compared with that of commercial wood pulp by SEM, FTIR, TGA, and X-ray. α-Cellulose content was determined to be 95%, a little less than that of commercial wood pulp. But the crystallinity of bamboo pulp is

Autoclaved bamboo pulp fibre reinforced cement
Cement and Concrete Composites, 1995Abstract This paper reports the use of bamboo fibre as a potential reinforcement for autoclaved cement building materials. At a fibre loading of 14% by mass, the autoclaved bamboo fibre reinforced cement composites have a flexural strength greater than 18 MPa and a density of about 1.3 g cm−3.

Effect of DTPMPA on Bamboo Kraft Pulping
Advanced Materials Research, 2014As a cooking additive, the impact of Diethylene Triamine Penta Methylene Phosphonic Acid (DTPMPA) on bamboo kraft pulping was studied. The effect of DTPMPA dosage at different maximum cooking temperature was discussed. The results showed that the cooking aids DTPMPA added in bamboo kraft pulping was able to reduce K value of pulp, improve the screened ...

Study on Bamboo Kraft Pulping with DTPMPA
Advanced Materials Research, 2013DTPMPA (Diethylene Triamine Penta Methylene Phosphonic Acid) was used as cooking additive in Bamboo pulping. The effect of cooking parameters such as alkali charge, maximum cooking temperature, and time at maximum temperature on bamboo kraft pulping adding additive Diethylene Triamine Penta Methylene Phosphonic Acid was studied.

Dissolving pulp from bamboo-willow
Cellulose, 2017The production of dissolving pulp from bamboo-willow (Salix salicaceae or Zhuliu in Chinese) was investigated. It is one of the new fast-growing tree species with strong cold resistance and can grow well in arid areas. Bamboo-willow chips were prehydrolyzed with phosphoric acid and subsequently pulped via the Kraft process.

A cascaded process to upgrade bleached bamboo pulp into dissolving pulp and arabinoxylan
Carbohydrate PolymersThe dissolving pulp preparation from bleached kraft pulp while realizing the high-value application of hemicellulose fraction is of great significance for improving the overall economics of the process. This work proposed a two-step cascaded process of deep eutectic solvent (DES) pretreatment combined with mechanical refining for the co-production of ...

Air-cured bamboo pulp reinforced cement
Journal of Materials Science Letters, 1994We report the preparation and mechanical and physical properties of air-cured BRFC (bamboo pulp fibre reinforced cement composite). The bamboo species was Sinocalamus affinis (Rendle) McClue. Bamboo fibres were obtained from kraft pulp unbleached commercial package paper from Chang Jiang Paper Mill, China. The matrix was prepared from ordinary Portland
