Proximity measures in symbolic data analysis

open access: yesStatistica, 2007
The Authors consider the general problem of similarity and dissimilarity measures in Symbolic Data Analysis. First of all they examine the classical definitions of elementary event, assertion object, hierarchical dependences and logical dependences. Then

Uniform Asymptotic Stability and Robust Stability for Positive Linear Volterra Difference Equations in Banach Lattices

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2008
For positive linear Volterra difference equations in Banach lattices, the uniform asymptotic stability of the zero solution is studied in connection with the summability of the fundamental solution and the invertibility of the characteristic operator ...

Some results on disjointly weakly compact sets

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
We give an operator characterization of disjointly weakly compact sets and show that disjointly weakly compact sets coincide with reciprocal Dunford-Pettis sets.

The Köthe Dual of an Abstract Banach Lattice

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces and Applications, 2013
We analyze a suitable definition of Köthe dual for spaces of integrable functions with respect to vector measures defined on δ-rings. This family represents a broad class of Banach lattices, and nowadays it seems to be the biggest class of spaces ...

Interpolation of Banach lattices [PDF]

open access: yesStudia Mathematica, 1985
For each couple \(\bar X=(X_ 0,X_ 1)\) of Banach lattices and each non- negative concave function \(\phi\) let \(\) and \(\phi(\bar X)\) denote the \(\pm\) interpolation spaces of Gustavsson-Peetre respectively the Calderón-Lozanovskij construction. In this note we show that these spaces essentially coincide.
