A novel ultra wide-band loop antenna

This paper has presented a wide-band loop antenna applied a self-complimentary structure. The size of the designed antenna is λ/4.5 in width, λ/4.5 in length × λ/5.6 in height. The designed antenna showed extremely wide-band characteristic which is 0.3∼11.2 GHz (37.3:1).

A dual band meandering folded loop antenna

The authors show that the folded loop antenna can be meandered into a compact size. With the help of a figure-of-L coupled line, the antenna can work in two bands. The coupled line can improve matching and generate the second band. Moreover, the antenna is printed on a common FR4 PCB, which is easy and cheap to make.

AbstractA dual‐band frequency tunable loop antenna that utilized a circuit model was introduced. An open loop antenna was selected as a prototype, which could be simply represented by an LC resonant circuit. To overcome the input mismatch in high‐frequency region, an additional π circuit was introduced.

Widening of Operational Frequency Band of the Loop Antenna

It has been shown that the gain and the bandwidth of the loop antenna can be substantially improved by increasing the electric dipole moment of the antenna. A suggested combination of the loop antenna with a wideband dipole increases antenna gain by 15 dB and extends the antenna bandwidth by 80%.
