Band alignment and enhanced breakdown field of simultaneously oxidized and nitrided Zr film on Si

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2011
The band alignment of ZrO2/interfacial layer/Si structure fabricated by simultaneous oxidation and nitridation of sputtered Zr on Si in N2O at 700°C for different durations has been established by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Valence band

Synthesized Binary Offset Carrier Modulation for Interoperable GNSS L1 Band Signals

open access: yesNavigation
This paper presents a constant-envelope modulation scheme, based on a synthesized binary offset carrier (SBOC), for a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) that combines three signals in a nonlinear fashion with unequal amplitudes.

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Optimizing conduction and valence bands for lead-free vacancy-ordered Cs2PtI6 based perovskite solar cells with zinc and kesterite charge transport layers

open access: yesMaterials Letters: X
This study introduces numerical models for Cs2PtI6-based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) using SCAPS-1D to optimize the conduction band offset (CBO) and valence band offset (VBO) at the interfaces between the charge transport layers (CTL) and Cs2PtI6.

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Selective Transparent Contacts Based on a Hafnium‐Titanium Oxide Alloy with Optimized Band Alignment for c‐Si Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces
In this study, the potential of hafnium‐titanium oxide (HfxTi1‐xOy, HTO) thin films is explored and deposited by low‐temperature (75 °C) atomic layer deposition (ALD) as selective contacts for crystalline silicon (c‐Si) solar cells.
