Collective states in 230Th: band structure [PDF]
Experimental data for the excited states in the deformed nucleus 230Th studied in the (p, t) reaction are analyzed. Sequences of the states are selected which can be treated as rotational bands and as multiplets of excitations.

Perpendicular magnetocrystalline anisotropy energy (MAE) of 111-surface slab of Fe2CoAl
We have analyzed the surface stability of different orientations(111, 001, 011) of Fe _2 CoAl (FCA) slabs. Among all the slabs, the orientation with 111-surface is found to be most stable with minimum energy.

Extrema positions of charge carrier band spectrum in thin bismuth films
Many studies report an increase in charge carrier concentration in thin bismuth films as their thickness decreases at low temperatures. These results are obtained on the basis of data on resistivity, magnetoresistance, Hall coefficient, and thermal EMF ...

We have performed an in situ angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) on single-crystal surfaces of La$_{0.6}$Sr$_{0.4}$MnO$_{3}$ (LSMO) thin films grown on SrTiO$_{3}$ (001) substrates by laser molecular beam epitaxy, and investigated the ...

Structural, electronic and magnetic properties of Fe2TiP full-Heusler compound: A first-principles study [PDF]
This study examined the electronic, magnetic, and structural properties of Fe2TiP full-Heusler compound, using the pseudo-potential plane wave (PP-PW) formalism based on density functional theory (DFT). Energetically, the AlCu2Mn-type structure of Fe2TiP

Transparent photonic band in metallodielectric nanostructures
Under certain conditions, a transparent photonic band can be designed into a one-dimensional metallodielectric nanofilm structure. Unlike conventional pass bands in photonic crystals, where the finite thickness of the structure affects the transmission ...

We propose a new approach to calculate the complex photonic band structure, both purely dispersive and evanescent Bloch modes of a finite range, of arbitrary three-dimensional photonic crystals.

PEROVSKITES AND OTHER FRAMEWORK STRUCTURE CRYSTALLINE MATERIALS (BOOK' FIRST PAGES AND PREFACE)
Perovskites are among the most famous materials due to their exceptional properties: they present nearly all existing types of interesting properties, in particular as ferroics or multiferroics, they may be insulators, (super)conductors, or ...

"Pudding Mold"-type Band as an Origin of Large Thermopower in tau-type Organic Conductors
We study the origin of the large thermopower in quasi-two-dimensional a $\tau$-type organic conductor, $\tau-(EDO-S,S-DMEDT-TTF)_2(AuBr_2)_{1+y}$ ($y \le 0.875$), from the view point of a "pudding mold"-type band structure.

Observation of a $\gamma$-band based on two-quasiparticle configuration in $^{70}$Ge
The structure of $^{70}$Ge has been studied through in-beam gamma ray spectroscopy. A new band structure is identified that leads to forking of the ground-state band into two excited bands.
