A Compact Uniplanar Electromagnetic Bandgap Structure with Wide Bandgap

2021 IEEE 19th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics (ANTEM), 2021
This paper presents a new compact uniplanar electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structure for K band applications. The proposed unit cell consists of corner square patches which are connected at the center by meander lines and interdigital capacitors (IDC) along the edges.

A digital bandgap reference

2013 IEEE 56th International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS), 2013
A digital bandgap reference that provides a programmable reference voltage output is presented. It uses the same idea as an analog bandgap circuit except that the three operations of differencing, scaling and addition are done in the digital domain after converting the operands, the analog junction-diode voltages, into numbers.

Amplitude-induced bandgap: New type of bandgap for nonlinear elastic metamaterials

open access: yesJournal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, 2020
In this paper, we report a new type of bandgap phenomenon called "amplitude-induced bandgap", which is induced by amplitude in nonlinear metamaterials.

Extending bandgap of air-core photonic bandgap fibers

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
Air-core photonic bandgap fibers offer many unique properties and are critical to many emerging applications. A notable property is the high nonlinear threshold which is the key for applications at high peak powers. The strong interaction of light and air is also essential for a number of emerging applications, especially those based on nonlinear ...

Bandgap splitting in liquid crystal photonic bandgap fibers

OFC/NFOEC 2008 - 2008 Conference on Optical Fiber Communication/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference, 2008
The polarization dependent bandgap splitting for nematic liquid crystal photonic bandgap fibers (LCPBGFs) is investigated. We proposed two orthogonal polarization dependent bandgap for guiding linear-polarized fiber modes of LCPBGFs.

Comparison of the electrochemical and optical bandgap of low-bandgap polymers

Synthetic Metals, 2003
The use of low bandgap polymers in organic photovoltaics for better light harvesting is getting more and more important. For determination of the electrochemical bandgap cyclovoltammetry (CV) and electrochemical voltage spectroscopy (EVS) was applied. The optical bandgap was determined by optical absorption measurements.
