Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Six different surgical method options according to etiology in repair of arteriovenous fistula aneurysms

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Vascular Surgery, 2023
Aim: This study aims to evaluate the considerations that should be taken into account when choosing a surgical method and the early results of six methods used for repair in patients who underwent surgical repair due to arteriovenous fistula (AVF ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Triple superphosphate placement affects early growth of chickpea [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Fertilizer placement with and close to the seed may have inhibitory effects on early growth of plants. In a pot study, chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) root growth and nodulation was assessed by placing triple superphosphate (TSP) with seed (0) and 2 or 5 ...

The results of studies of the autumn flight of birds of the thrush family (Turdidae) in the valley of the Paz River of the Pasvik Nature Reserve [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия Саратовского университета. Новая серия: Серия Химия. Биология. Экология
This study presents the results of a seven-year investigation (2018–2024) into the migration patterns of thrushes (family Turdidae) under the conditions of the polar day’s termination at the «Varlam Island Station» in the Pasvik ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Hardcopy banding measurement and assessment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Banding is a well-known printer artifact which generally appears as lines of variations in density running perpendicular to the process direction of the image.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
