Antibody Banding Patterns on the Enzyme-Linked Immunoelectrotransfer Blot (EITB) Assay Clearly Discriminate Viable Cysticercosis in Naturally Infected Pigs [PDF]
Enzyme-linked immunoelectrotransfer blot (EITB) detects antibodies against seven Taenia solium larvae antigens in three protein families (GP50, T24/42, and 8-kDa) with different structures and functions.

Procedural band patterns [PDF]
We seek to cover a parametric domain with a set of evenly spaced bands which number and widthvaries according to a density field. We propose an implicit procedural algorithm, that generates theband pattern from a pixel shader and adapts to changes to the control fields in real time. Each band isuniquely identified by an integer.

What's in a band? The function of the color and banding pattern of the Banded Swallowtail [PDF]
AbstractButterflies have evolved a diversity of color patterns, but the ecological functions for most of these patterns are still poorly understood. The Banded Swallowtail butterfly, Papilio demolion demolion, is a mostly black butterfly with a greenish‐blue band that traverses the wings. The function of this wing pattern remains unknown.

Presence of skeletal banding in a reef-building tropical crustose coralline alga. [PDF]
The presence of banding in the skeleton of coralline algae has been reported in many species, primarily from temperate and polar regions. Similar to tree rings, skeletal banding can provide information on growth rate, age, and longevity; as well as ...

Wandering Pattern Sensing at S-Band [PDF]
Increasing prevalence of dementia has posed several challenges for care-givers. Patients suffering from dementia often display wandering behavior due to boredom or memory loss. It is considered to be one of the challenging conditions to manage and understand. Traits of dementia patients can compromise their safety causing serious injuries.

Finding Banded Patterns in Data: The Banded Pattern Mining Algorithm [PDF]
The concept of Banded pattern mining is concerned with the identification of “bandings” within zero-one data. A zero-one data set is said to be fully banded if all the “ones” can be arranged along the leading diagonal. The discovery of a banded pattern is of interest in its own right, at least in a data analysis context, because it tells us something ...

Chromosome banding patterns of the gudgeon, Gobio gobio (Actinopterygii, Cyprinidae) [PDF]
Background. The gudgeon is one of the most divergent fish species in Europe. Morphological variability related to sex, size, ecological characters, and geographical distribution are well documented in the literature.
