RAPIQUE: Rapid and Accurate Video Quality Prediction of User Generated Content

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Signal Processing, 2021
Blind or no-reference video quality assessment of user-generated content (UGC) has become a trending, challenging, heretofore unsolved problem. Accurate and efficient video quality predictors suitable for this content are thus in great demand to achieve ...

Calibration‐Free Electromyography Motor Intent Decoding Using Large‐Scale Supervised Pretraining

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Calibration‐free electromyography motor intent decoding is enabled through large‐scale supervised pretraining across heterogeneous datasets. A Spatially Aware Feature‐learning Transformer processes variable channel counts and electrode geometries, allowing transfer across users and recording setups. On a held‐out benchmark, fine‐tuned cross‐user models

Phase-amplitude coupling-based adaptive filters for neural signal decoding

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2023
Bandpass filters play a core role in ECoG signal processing. Commonly used frequency bands such as alpha, beta, and gamma bands can reflect the normal rhythm of the brain. However, the universally predefined bands might not be optimal for a specific task.

Challenges and Opportunities in Multi‐Method Integrated Geophysical Prospection of Buried Building Remains at the Sanctuary of Olympia

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ancient Olympia was one of the most important sanctuaries and the venue for the Olympic Games in Greek and Roman times. Its remains are located in the Olympia Terrace (Peloponnese, Greece) at the present‐day confluence of the rivers Alpheios and Kladeos at the base of Mount Kronos.

Multi-level and multi-objective design optimisation of a MEMS bandpass filter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Microelectromechanical system (MEMS) design is often complex, containing multiple disciplines but also conflicting objectives. Designers are often faced with the problem of balancing what objectives to focus upon and how to incorporate modeling and ...

A Highly Independent Multiband Bandpass Filter Using a Multi-Coupled Line Stub-SIR With Folding Structure

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The main problem in designing a multiband bandpass filter (BPF) is making each passband response highly independent, where each bandwidth of multiband BPF can be controlled and adjusted separately.

Dopaminergic novelty detection and theta oscillations: Virtual reality‐based adaptive interventions for cognitive enhancement in aging

open access: yesIbrain, EarlyView.
Aging‐related cognitive decline is associated with reduced dopaminergic signaling and disrupted theta oscillations, which together impair novelty detection and memory formation. This review shows how VR environments can be used to deliver adaptive, novelty‐rich stimuli that engage dopaminergic circuits and entrain theta rhythms, thereby enhancing ...

Complement C3 mediates adolescent social isolation‐induced hippocampal synaptic deficits and sex‐specific emotional dysfunction

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Adolescent social isolation disrupts hippocampal function and exacerbates emotional symptoms, with sex‐specific patterns, as shown by human studies. In mice, social isolation decreased hippocampal synaptic density and calcium signaling, upregulated complement proteins, and activated complement‐mediated microglial synaptic phagocytosis.

A 0.5358-approximation for Bandpass-2

open access: yes, 2015
The Bandpass-2 problem is a variant of the maximum traveling salesman problem arising from optical communication networks using wavelength-division multiplexing technology, in which the edge weights are dynamic rather than fixed.
