Study of Free‐Space Optical Quantum Network: Review and Prospectives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Free from the constraints of fiber connections, free‐space quantum network enables longer and more flexible quantum network connections. This review summarizes and comparatively analyzes free‐space quantum network experiments based on ground stations, satellites, and mobile platforms.

Multimodal Wearable Biosensing Meets Multidomain AI: A Pathway to Decentralized Healthcare

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multimodal biosensing meets multidomain AI. Wearable biosensors capture complementary biochemical and physiological signals, while cross‐device, population‐aware learning aligns noisy, heterogeneous streams. This Review distills key sensing modalities, fusion and calibration strategies, and privacy‐preserving deployment pathways that transform ...

Joint Optimization of Cache Placement and Bandwidth Allocation in Heterogeneous Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Content caching at edge of the network has been considered as an effective way to reduce latency and alleviate burden on backhaul. In this paper, cache placement and bandwidth allocation strategies are jointly investigated in a multi-user system of a ...

Transmit Signal and Bandwidth Optimization in Multiple-Antenna Relay Channels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Transmit signal and bandwidth optimization is considered in multiple-antenna relay channels. Assuming all terminals have channel state information, the cut-set capacity upper bound and decode-and-forward rate under full-duplex relaying are evaluated by ...

Fabrication of High‐Density Multimodal Neural Probes Based on Heterogeneously Integrated CMOS

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A chiplet‐based methodology democratizes active neural probe development on standard bulk CMOS services. This yields the first probe combining high‐density electrophysiology (416 electrodes) with calcium imaging (832 photodiodes) and complete on‐chip signal processing across 13 shanks.

Quality‐of‐service‐aware fair bandwidth allocation scheme for fibre wireless networks

open access: yesIET Networks, 2016
Fibre wireless (FiWi) access networks constitute a promising candidate to meet the demanding challenges of the modern bandwidth‐hungry services and applications. Due to the dynamic nature of the network traffic in access domains, the bandwidth allocation

Allocation of bandwidth and storage [PDF]

open access: yesIIE Transactions, 2002
We consider two allocation problems in this paper, namely, allocation of bandwidth and storage. In these problems, we face a number of independent requests, respectively, for reservation of bandwidth of a communication channel of fixed capacity and for storage of items into a space of fixed size. In both problems, a request is characterized by: (i) its

Ultrasound Activated Piezoelectric Dural Patches to Drive Endogenous Neural Stem Cell–Mediated Repair Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a wireless, non‐invasive strategy for neural repair by developing a biodegradable piezoelectric dural patch that, under transcranial ultrasound, generates localized electrical fields to drive endogenous neural stem cells toward neuronal differentiation and functional integration.

Bandwidth Allocation Based on Traffic Load and Interference in IEEE 802.16 Mesh Networks

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2013
This paper introduces a traffic load and interference based bandwidth allocation (TLIBA) scheme for wireless mesh network (WMN) that improves the delay and throughput performance by proper utilization of assigned bandwidth.

Online bandwidth auctions for efficient allocation of bandwidth

open access: yesProceedings. 2004 12th IEEE International Conference on Networks (ICON 2004) (IEEE Cat. No.04EX955), 2005
This paper describes an on-line auction process for dynamic bandwidth allocation in communication networks. The auction is intended to be repeated at short (perhaps ten minute) intervals. The outcome of the auction gives both the bandwidth allocation, and the price to be paid for it.
