Varying bandwidth parameter method on Kernel Gini index estimation

Annals of the University of Craiova Mathematics and Computer Science Series, 2023
Most of measures of income inequality are derived from the Lorenz curve and many authors state that the Gini index is the best single measure of inequality. The present paper reviews some of theoretical properties of the Lorenz curve and provides a non-parametric estimate of the Gini index and the almost sure convergence of this estimate.

Adjustment of piezoelectric transducer parameters for bandwidth enhancement

Ultrasonics, 1985
Abstract The enhancement of the efficiency bandwidth for ultrasonic transducers used in echographic applications is investigated. Analytical and experimental results are given which show the availability of simple conditions on the mechanical impedance ratio and the radiation resistance for the design of broadband transducers.

Gain Bandwidth Properties of a Distributed Parameter Load

IEEE Transactions on Circuit Theory, 1968
The gain bandwidth restrictions are considered for a distributed parameter load consisting of a resistor shunted by an open-circuited stub of delay length \tau . An aperiodic solution for the optimum flat gain response in the frequency domain is obtained by using a computer, solution, which solves the infinite set of simultaneous constraint equations ...

Nonparametric Estimation of Volatility Function with Variable Bandwidth Parameter

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2013
In this article, we introduce a new method for the volatility function estimation of continuous-time diffusion process dX t  = μ(X t )dt + σ(X t )dW t , which is based on combining the idea of local linear smoother and variable bandwidth. We give the expressions for the conditional MSE and MISE of the estimator and obtain the optimal variable bandwidth.

Bandwidth Conversion of ELF Noise Parameters

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1984
The Field-Lewinstein-Modestino model represents ELF noise as the sum of Gaussian and impulsive components. This model has proven to be accurate and is especially convenient for analysis and simulation. However, the parameters of the model are bandwidth dependent and have been measured for only a few specific bandwidths.

Dispersion-slope parameter for monomode fiber bandwidth

Optical Fiber Communication, 1984
Current single-mode communications systems generally use lasers with pulsed spectral widths of less than a few nanometers centered near the zero-dispersion wavelength λ0 of the overall fiber link. However, there is some uncertainly concerning the information-carrying capacity of these links.

Optical parameters and space–bandwidth product optimization in digital holographic microscopy

Applied Optics, 2012
This paper considers some of the most important optical parameters that characterize a digital holographic microscope (DHM) and presents their mathematical derivation based on geometrical and diffraction-based models. It supports and justifies the use of the out-of-focus recording of holograms by showing that the field of view can be increased when ...

Bandwidth allocation based on declared UPC parameters in ATM networks

2000 TENCON Proceedings. Intelligent Systems and Technologies for the New Millennium (Cat. No.00CH37119), 2002
We present a new method of calculating the required bandwidth for ATM connections. We first develop analytical models for bandwidth allocation of constant bit rate (CBR) and variable bit rate (VBR) services based on the declared usage parameter control (UPC) parameters.

Measurement of the Apparent Bandwidth Parameters of an Absorption Band

Applied Spectroscopy, 1968
It is quite well known that an absorption spectrum, either recorded or point-point measured, is usually represented graphically as a percentage transmission or absorption vs wavenumber or wavelength.1 For such an absorption band, the baseline1 is carefully selected.
