Mice were fed isocaloric western diets based on egg and dairy, terrestrial meat, game meat, marine, vegetarian, or a mixture of all. Marine and vegetarian‐based diets protect mice from obesity development and reduced insulin sensitivity, while meat‐based diets promote obesity.
